Good morning,
Before heading out this week, there are several important updates you should know about — from major changes to your bin collections to upcoming road closures and a busy weekend of local events.
Here's your Friday roundup.
🗑️ Major Bin Collection Changes — Starting This Week
Birmingham City Council is rolling out a new waste collection system across Sutton Coldfield from this week.
New bins are being delivered from June 30, with the new service starting July 6.
Here's what's changing:
✅ Weekly food waste collections — indoor and outdoor food caddy provided
✅ A second recycling bin with a green lid
✅ General waste moving to fortnightly — alternating week by week with recycling
The key change to be aware of: your black bin will no longer be collected every week. General waste and recycling will alternate fortnightly going forward.
Watch out for your official Birmingham City Council letter explaining your specific new collection day and arrangements.
