A massive charity music festival is hitting the town this weekend, and a historic local charity is celebrating 125 years of changing lives.
But first — the local traffic situation is looking incredibly heavy this week. Here are the locations most likely to cause delays over the coming week.
🚨 Critical Traffic Warnings
Birmingham Road (July 27–August 1): Full road closure by Birmingham Highway Authority for carriageway resurfacing. This affects the A5127 stretch from Station Road down to Jockey Road, right past the Standbridge Hotel and Tudor Way. Diversions will be in place.
Four Oaks Road (July 28–29): Full road closure by Birmingham Highway Authority to paint new road markings. This impacts the major junctions with Hartopp Road, Streetly Lane, and Luttrell Road, just down from All Saints Church.
Thornhill Road (July 18–28): Ongoing full closure by Staffordshire County Council for mobile highway repairs. The closure stretches from the County Boundary (Foley Road East) up to the Hardwick Road roundabout, running right past Streetly Methodist Church and Da Gino.
Little Aston Lane (July 17–27): Full closure by Staffordshire County Council for highway repairs. The road is shut from Walsall Road all the way to Blake Street, passing by Little Aston Village Hall and The Grove.
🚧 Ongoing Local Disruptions
Fox Hollies Road: Multi-way signals July 27–August 21. Major Cadent Gas works to replace old pipes with new plastic ones. This is situated right by St Giles Hospice Shop, Walmley Post Office, and The Deanery Church of England Primary School.
Rectory Road: Multi-way signals July 27–August 3. Cadent Gas is carrying out essential works to connect customers and alter service pipes near the Boot Inn and the Bedford Road junction.
Tamworth Road: Lane closures July 23–31. Birmingham Highway Authority is constructing speed cushions in phases outside numbers 32, 42, and 35a. This is right by Highclare St Pauls School and St Joseph's Catholic Primary School.
