A brand new electronic music festival has been announced for local woodland this August, and a pair of seven-year-old local twins have raised an incredible amount for a children's cancer charity.
Here are the locations most likely to cause delays over the coming weeks — note that several of the closures below apply for two specific days within a longer works window rather than continuously throughout.
🚨 Traffic & Roads
Thornhill Road (August 11–19): Staffordshire County Council full closure for mobile highway repairs from Foley Road East up to the Hardwick Road roundabout, near Streetly Methodist Church.
Little Aston Lane (August 8–18): Full closure for highway repairs from Walsall Road to Blake Street, passing Little Aston Primary Academy.
Aldridge Road (August 8–18): Stop/go boards and closure window for highway repairs on the A454 near the Lakeside estate and Mill Green.
Mill Lane (July 31–August 10): Full closure currently active from Chester Road (A452) to Aldridge Road at Mill Green.

Little Sutton Lane (until September 11): Cadent Gas pipe replacement, multi-way signals affecting Little Sutton Lane, Lichfield Road and Barker Road near Four Oaks Station
Slade Road (until September 3): Two-way signals for subsidence repairs near Hill Village Road junction
Hollyfield Road (August 7–20): Cadent Gas pipe replacement with multi-way signals near Reddicap Heath Post Office
Monmouth Drive (August 13–14): Tree felling works with multi-way signals alongside Powell's Pool
Eachelhurst Road (August 11–13): Lane closures for footway works near The Fairways junction

Off Grid Festival (Sunday 30 August): A brand new electronic music festival is coming to woodland in the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield. Stages covering House, UK Garage and Drum and Bass with a debut lineup including Example, Hannah Wants and Todd Edwards.
💛 Community Spotlight: Local Super Hairoes
Seven-year-old twins Willow and Isla recently cut their knee-length hair to donate to The Little Princess Trust, which provides real-hair wigs for children with cancer. A family carnival at Oscott Social Club followed, and the twins smashed their £1,400 target — raising over £4,000.

The Elvis Experience at The Royal (Friday, 7 August): A live tribute show dedicated to the music and legacy of Elvis Presley, performed by Mark Green from 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM.
Saturday Afternoon Garden Party at The Royal (Saturday, 8 August): A relaxed live acoustic session in the garden featuring Sam Rogers and Taylor Reid, running from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
Skabucks Live at the Town Hall (Saturday, 8 August): A high-voltage 60s Ska and Two-Tone tribute band delivering a rip-roaring, dancefloor-filling live show, starting at 8:00 PM.
Mimosa at The Royal (Saturday, 8 August): A three-piece party, pop, and rock cover band playing hits from the last 40+ years indoors from 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM.
